*Introductory Years
Born in Snow Hill hailing from Portland in Jamaica, the prolofic versatile Reggae Artist – Shocking Murray started singing at seven (7) years old by penning words and putting rhymes together.

From an early age he was recognized in his community as a stand-out talent. At the tender age of nine (9) years old, he started singing for one of the number one Soundsystems on the island called “Libratone.“

Throughout his teenage years into adulthood, his outstanding performances and unique style helped to launch his thriving music career.

*Early Years (1990 – 2000)
Shocking Murray’s professional years of recording commenced in the early 1990s. His illustrious career started with recordings with the hit Producers IUS and Devon Bradshaw. He also recorded his first single “Drum” at the famous “Black Scorpio Studio” in Kingston, Jamaica.

After the release of four Single music projects, he was discovered by Michel Rose of Black Uhuru who introduced him to Squidly Cole. Working with one of the top Producers helped to hone his skills; the produced songs “Position” and “Heaven Holiday,“ were later released and distributed by the Tuff Gong Label in 1992. The following year Shocking Murray went on to record a Single with Samantha Rose titled “Hurt So Good” on the Penthouse Studio Label.
Shocking Murray’s breakout year came in 1995, with a hit “Woman You Me Want” song in collaboration with fellow Reggae Artist, Antonio Dilairo. The single’s success inspired him to expound on his career, he set his sights on Europe where he began performing at various Music Festivals on the international circuit.

*Later Years (2000 – 2010)
As Shocking Murray continued his global rise, in November 2002 his recording efforts earned him a Number 1 position for the hit song “Woman A You Me Want” on the Bazzoka Label on the America ‘New Mexico Dancehall Charts.‘

Shocking Murray continued to release additional music projects; in 2003 “Secret Admirer” and “Back on my Feet Again,“ in 2005 the club-hit “Wot Time Is It” and “Is It Really True”. In 2006, he produced his first LP, “Rise To The Top“ featuring “Seal It Up” produced by Pure Doze and Funky Chris from the band ‘Too Strong’. “Seal It Up” became a new dancehall classic, “Rise To The Top” is packed with other hits such as “Tumble Down Babylon,“ the infectious tune “Is It Really True” and “Music.“
Other songs such as, “Naturally Livity” featuring Flexable was recorded in his home town in Jamaica; an act of paying homage and traditionally bringing him back to his roots.

*(2010 – Current)
Later in 2012, he released his second album “Troddin’ On“ aIong with producing the Singles, “So Nice” and “Reparation.“ In July 2013, the hit single “So Nice” earned Shocking Murray another Number 1 spot on the CVM TV Hitlist Charts in Jamaica.

During early 2014 until 2017, Shocking Murray took a three year creative break and returned in 2018 where he continued producing hit songs such as “If You Wanna Live” release on his “Big Trees Records Label.“

Shocking Murray is currently in Studio working on additional works, such as Singles titled “Lady Rose” and “Reality Curefew” in collaboration with Antonio Dilairo written by Mr. Errol Harvey. He’s also working to release an upcoming “Unchained” EP.
