The end of the year is fast approaching – so it’s time to share with you my pick for the best Album of the year. I’ll be starting the hour with a couple of tracks from the runner-up the latest LP from Spoon “Hot Thoughts” and then continue the show with the complete LP of my favorite album from 2017 – The Order of Time“ from Valerie June.

Valerie June, the singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist from, Memphis Tennessee, is known for her organic Appalachian bluegrass moonshine roots music and channeling Old-Timey voices from the past. In her latest LP, “The Order of Time”, she has expanded this mix with some classic pop and soul creating a sublime album that I just can’t get enough of.

I’ll be ending the show (and the year) with an “Auld Lang Syne” from Scotland’s premier singer-songwriter Dougie MacLean.
